Mykola Zhuravel breaks the boundaries between painting and sculpture, performance and installation art. He turns to nature to create thriving monuments to man’s links to the Earth itself.
Zhuravel’s ambitious style results in a remarkable series of living images of a visionary utopia.
Zhuravel unites the legacies of Byzantine and icon painting with his contemporary painterly technique. The result, richly vibrant and inventive contemporary works that emerge as abstract modern-day icons
BIO
More than 40 years of experience in multimedia techniques such as painting, gesso (leaks), sculpture, graphic and installation.Graduated from the prestigious Kyiv State Arts Academy (Ukraine).
The artist is a member of the National Artist’s Union of Ukraine and Ukrainian Association of Visual Artists of Canada. Academician of the Academy of Rome-modernist art (Italy).
The works are in the collections of the Museum of History of Kyiv, (Ukraine), National Museum “Kyiv Picture Gallery” (Ukraine), Museum of Contemporary Art of Korsakiv, (Ukraine), CNEA (Canada), as well as in private collections in many countries.
